Volunteer Family Greeter Position Description
A Family Greeter welcomes the families to the center. The Greeter will assist with intake procedures. Greeters will supervise and assist children and family members with play activities in the family room. Activities may include, but are not limited to, playing games, watching a video, reading a book, or coloring. All volunteers are responsible for maintaining client confidentiality at all times. Necessary Skills: A Family Greeter should be welcoming, warm, and non-judgmental. Greeters should offer comfort, conversation, and support. Greeters should be patient and willing to work with diverse populations. Greeters should be prepared to interact with children of all ages. In addition, greeters should always be prepared to positively interact with the Gingerbread House staff, board members, clients, and other volunteers.
Volunteer at the Center’s Special Events
Special events include the center annual fundraiser and open house tours for the public. Volunteers can be trained to conduct the tours for local community and civic organizations and local school districts.
