Six-item drawing to offer airline tickets and more!

The Gingerbread House children’s advocacy center has finalized the six items in a drawing to be held at the 11th annual Chili Cook-Off and Barn Dance, slated for Feb. 17-19 at the Ellis County Expo Center.

Tickets are on sale now for the drawing and are $100 each for six chances. Only 150 tickets will be sold: 100 prior to the event and 50 reserved for sale the evening of the barn dance, that Saturday night. Purchasers can select which item(s) their six tickets go toward with the choices to include a pair of round trip tickets to anywhere Southwest Airlines flies, an Apple iPad2, a side of beef, a Dynex 55-inch LCD flat-screen TV, a salon spa package at One Fine Day and a Browning Silver 12-gauge automatic shotgun.

“I think it’s cool you have a choice as to which item you want to try for,” Gingerbread House board president Brad Shotts said.

Ticketholders do not have to be present to win and those who purchase their tickets in advance can select which “bucket” to have those placed in at the event. Or they may do so themselves at the Barn Dance, when containers will be set up for each item.

“I think it will just be fun that you can choose which bucket to put your chances in,” Gingerbread House executive director John Wyckoff said. “You can pre-select your items and we’ll put the chances in for you or you can do so yourself at the Barn Dance. I think it’s going to be hard to decide which items to try and win because these are all great items.”

Tickets can be purchased from any board member or by calling the center at 972-937-1870.
